After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be doing a half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. Sometime, depending upon your flight arrival if it's late in the night we will do this tour in the afternoon instead of morning to give you a nice rest before you venture out of the Hotel in our interesting tour. The sightseeing places could be Pashupatinath, famous Hindu Temple combined with Bouddhanath, a Buddhist Shine or Kathmandu Durbar Square, famous for its old architecture and place where you can visit living goddess with Swyambhunath, commonly known as Monkey Temple. 

Early morning transfer to airport for short 30 mins flight to Lukla. Lukla is a STOL airport and regarded as one of the scariest airport to land / take off. Upon arrival at Lukla on a small twin-otter or similar aircraft with a sweeping panoramic flight, Sherpa crew waiting to welcome you. After sorting out loads, depending upon time of arrival at Lukla, either lunch at Lukla and start walk or walk in between to have lunch to reach the destination. It’s a gradual walk most of the way with view of Kusum Kangru peak. 

Because of congestion at Kathmandu airport, now a days Lukla flights are operated from Ramechap airport which is about 5-6 hours drive a way from Kathmandu. Depending upon your schedule, you can drive on day 2 after lunch to stay overnight at Ramechap or if you don’t have a free day in Kathmandu, then you will need to start very early at 3am from Kathmandu to reach Ramechap and take a flight from there. 

From Phakding after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi, the trek continues passing through small village of Monjo and entering in to the Sagarmatha National Park. We will cross a second suspension bridge over the same river. From here the walk is along the winding uphill path all the way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum Kangru MountEverest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak. 

Namche Bazaar; the colorful houses are situated in an amphitheater U shaped bowl. There is a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snowcapped giants and the valleys way down, with an interesting museum with all kinds of information regarding the history of the Himalayas, geographic, culture, mountaineering history and existing information on flora and fauna of this region.

The walk is fairly easy for the first half with a climb of 20 minutes to the top ridge of Namche Bazaar, then the walk follows on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde-Ri etc. The walk from Phungi Tenga starts strenuous for an hour or two on the winding trail through the shade of woods till Thyangboche Monastery is reached for the overnight stop. Visit to the Thyangboche Monastery, taking blessings and spend sometime for meditation will certainly makes you feel good. This beautiful spot offers views of the majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north with Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east.

We descend steeply through woods, cross the Imja Tse Khola and climb steadily to the village of Pangboche. This is directly opposite of Ama Dablam (6,856 m.), and is a good place to stop-by for the lunch.  Pheriche is a good two / three hour’s walk beyond and is situated beneath the impressive spires of Cholatse (6,440 m.) and Tawache (6,542 m.).

It’s a mandatory rest day for acclimatization as you have crossed 4,000 plus altitude. During the rest day, its advisable to take a hike to a higher point which helps our body to acclimatize well. 

From Pheriche, the trail leads north, the path is gradual up for first half of the trek where we join the trail from Dingboche, at the bottom of Thugla Pass. The trail is gentle on the hard meadow looking down below Pheriche village. Today's walk offers beautiful view of the Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam and to the north Pokalde 5,741m, Kongma-tse 5,820m and the great wall of Nuptse. From Thugla, an hour steep up brings you to the top, where you can view Mt. Pumori and other peaks west of Everest, the spot here is good place for a few minutes break after the strenuous climb, close to this spot you can also see a number of memorial of the unfortunate climbers, who died in expeditions around the mountain of this region. From here another 1.5 to 2 hours of gradual ascend brings you to Lobuche. Lobuche comes as a surprise, as its situated in the corner well hidden and sheltered from the wind. 

Today towards the final destination of this adventurous journey at the foot of number one, the first hour walk is gradual up the valley at the end of the grassy field, a short 20 minutes climb leads to the rocky moraine path. After the last rocky moraine dunes a short downhill walk bring you to Gorakshep, on the flat field below Kalapatthar 5,545m and Mt.Pumori 7,145m. Gorakshep used to be the Base Camp in early days of Everest climb. 

After a break here at Gorakshep continue towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Ice-fall. The path from here can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier. The walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air. The walk passes through rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. Everest Base Camp is lively during the high expedition season. On reaching at the foot of number one, a great view of the Khumbu icefall awaits you. After a grand time here retrace the journey back to Gorakshep for the overnight.

Early morning, a steep walk towards Kalapatthar, on reaching the top ridge of Kalapatthar, which is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori. The view from here is beyond imagination as the Everest looks within a stone throw distance, between the summit of Nuptse and Lho-la and Lhotse and with all the higher snowcapped giants that dominates all around, with a view of Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier. After a wonderful time here, descend back to Gorakshep and continue walk to Dingboche. The walk is downhill most of the way and after Thugla where the Dingboche & Pheriche trails branches off, from here our route descends further to the flat Dingboche for overnight. 

Today, take an easy walk for about 3 hours climbing up gradually to a small settlement of Chhukhung and stay for the night. The afternoon is spent relaxing and necessary preparations or for an optional hike around & training session, for the exceptional great scenery of the surrounding high peaks and glacier.

The route to Base Camp, the path at first climbs quite steeply to the south before following the moraine east along the main valley below the southern or true left bank of the Lhotse Glacier. The trail then follows glacial streams to the snout of the Imja glacier. At this point the path swings north-east and crosses a dried up lake bed between the Lhotse and Imja Glaciers, from a base camp at Pareshaya Gyab. A well acclimatized party in good condition can make the summit and return in a day back to Base Camp.

Today will be a rest day at Base Camp for planning and preparation before the climb tomorrow morning. During the rest day we can organize a practice climbing as well as hike towards high camp area to familiarize with the climb and get acclimatized ourselves.

Early morning start from the base camp passing through the moraine, steep grassy slopes and rocky steps to the High Camp. From a high camp on the left-hand ridge scramble across the broad open gully and gain the right-hand ridge. Following this, this gives easy scrambling to the snow-covered glacier above. A route needs to be found out leftwards, avoiding seracs and crevasses before turning back northwards over snow covered scree in the margin between the glacier and the base of the main summit ridge. After crossing a gully with some stone and icefall danger, a steep snow and ice ramp leads upwards for nearly 100 meters (300ft), to the summit ridge. The last moves on to the ridge often prove difficult and many climbers leave a fixed rope in place to aid descent.

The ridge itself is a classic and undulates towards the main summit which is reached by a final tricky snow pitch. Standing atop we have the stunning close-up view of the South face of Lhotse (8,501 m.) in vastness that looms before us.  We have the impressive dramatic views of the mountains -Amadablam (6,856 m.), Chamlang and Baruntse in the far horizon.  Descent is made by the same route to the low base camp or if you are not too tired, push further to Chhukung for overnight stay at a lodge with nice meals.

Descend to Pareshya Ghyab; continue further along (4,343 m.) the easy trail to Chhukung. After lunch we will walk for about 3 hours finally reaching to a village of Dingboche.

From Dingboche descend all the way to Pangboche, then after the bridge a small climb through the cool shade of the forest reaching to nice spot at Deoboche, from here another 30 minutes of climb to Thyangboche. In the evening visit to the legendary Monastery.

An easy downhill walk to the bridge, from here a steep climb for a while and then reaching the level path towards the village of Shanasha. From here one can take an optional walk to Khumjung and Khunde village before Namche Bazaar. After lunch slowly descend down with good 3-4 hours walk to Monjo.

Last day of this great trek will be one, you can walk at your own best pace, leisurely and enjoying the lush green scenery around. Apart from few short uphill the only long climb will be just before Lukla which will take approximately 45 minutes from a place called Choplung or from the old big oak tree. On reaching Lukla, prepare for the last day great dinner and a party with the fellow Sherpa crew, porters and trekking members.

The flight time to Kathmandu are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, transfer to Hotel. Afternoon will be free for relax after the trek. 

Again on return if the flights are not operating direct to Kathmandu, take a short 15 minutes flight to Ramechap and from there you will be driving to Kathmandu with a lunch break in between concluding a wonderful trek. 

After returning from Lukla, you will have a free or contingency day in Kathmandu, which is advisable as Lukla flights are weather dependent and by any chance if the Lukla flight got cancelled or delayed, its worth to keep a free day so that you will not miss your international flight back home. 

You can do some extra sightseeing tour in Kathmandu or just relax and keep sometime free for shopping in Thamel before returning back home. 

Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. Our staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.
