After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be doing a half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. Sometime, depending upon your flight arrival if it's late in the night we will do this tour in the afternoon instead of morning to give you a nice rest before you venture out of the Hotel in our interesting tour. The sightseeing places could be Pashupatinath, famous Hindu Temple combined with Bouddhanath, a Buddhist Shine or Kathmandu Durbar Square, famous for its old architecture and place where you can visit living goddess with Swyambhunath, commonly known as Monkey Temple. 

Early morning transfer to airport for short 30 mins flight to Lukla. Lukla is a STOL airport and regarded as one of the scariest airport to land / take off. Upon arrival at Lukla on a small twin-otter or similar aircraft with a sweeping panoramic flight, Sherpa crew waiting to welcome you. After sorting out loads, depending upon time of arrival at Lukla, either lunch at Lukla and start walk or walk in between to have lunch to reach the destination. It’s a gradual walk most of the way with view of Kusum Kangru peak. 

Because of congestion at Kathmandu airport, now a days Lukla flights are operated from Ramechap airport which is about 5-6 hours drive a way from Kathmandu. Depending upon your schedule, you can drive on day 2 after lunch to stay overnight at Ramechap or if you don’t have a free day in Kathmandu, then you will need to start very early at 3am from Kathmandu to reach Ramechap and take a flight from there. 

From Phakding after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi, the trek continues passing through small village of Monjo and entering in to the Sagarmatha National Park. We will cross a second suspension bridge over the same river. From here the walk is along the winding uphill path all the way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum Kangru MountEverest- Nuptse wall, Lhotse and the closer view of Taweche peak. 

Namche Bazaar; the colorful houses are situated in an amphitheater U shaped bowl. There is a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snowcapped giants and the valleys way down, with an interesting museum with all kinds of information regarding the history of the Himalayas, geographic, culture, mountaineering history and existing information on flora and fauna of this region.

The walk is fairly easy for the first half with a climb of 20 minutes to the top ridge of Namche Bazaar, then the walk follows on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde-Ri etc. The walk from Phungi Tenga starts strenuous for an hour or two on the winding trail through the shade of woods till Thyangboche Monastery is reached for the overnight stop. Visit to the Thyangboche Monastery, taking blessings and spend sometime for meditation will certainly makes you feel good. This beautiful spot offers views of the majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north with Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east.

After a wonderful time at Thyangboche, the trail descend through a forest of birch, fir, juniper and rhododendron with magnificent view of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. The walk is gradual uphill most of the way, as you come to a large mani wall gate, a little farther from here the route leads to Pangboche at 3,900m. A short climb to Shomare, a small settlement with fantastic close-up view of Ama-Dablam, where normally we will have our lunch. After a pleasant break, journey continues gradually towards east. After an hour walk, before a small wooden bridge the road splits into two ways, the north going to Pheriche and our trail leading towards east beneath towering north face of Ama Dablam, which looks completely different. From the bridge the trails climbs slowly winding above the Imja tse river to a big mani Stupa to finally reach our destination at Dingboche. 

It’s a mandatory rest day for acclimatization as you have crossed 4,000 plus altitude. During the rest day, its advisable to take a hike to a higher point which helps our body to acclimatize well. 

Morning an easy short day walk to Chukung at 4,730 m high, a small settlement within Imjatse valley offers incredible views of Island Peak, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse, Nuptse and Amadablam.

Afternoon relax with optional hike up to Chhukung-Ri at above approx: 5,100 m high.

After a pleasant stop in Chhukung, adventure starts early morning to traverse over first pass of the journey. Walk past Bibre in between Dingboche and Chhukung areas, and then our route diverts on 'off the beaten trail' heading north beneath towering peak of Lhotse and Nuptse.

Leading to a steep climb over moraine on top of Kongma-la, in between Kongma peak (also called as Mehra) and Pokalde peaks. After a rest and short stop on top 5,535m high pass, then descend to reach Khumbu glacier and moraine as walk continues on glacier following our guide leading you safely to Lobuche for overnight stop in the comfort of a nice and cozy lodge.

Today towards the final destination of this adventurous journey at the foot of number one, the first hour walk is gradual up the valley at the end of the grassy field, a short 20 minutes climb leads to the rocky moraine path. After the last rocky moraine dunes a short downhill walk bring you to Gorakshep, on the flat field below Kalapatthar 5,545m and Mt. Pumori 7,145m. Gorakshep used to be the Base Camp in early days of Everest climb. 

After a break here at Gorakshep continue towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Ice-fall. The path from here can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier. The walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air. The walk passes through rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. Everest Base Camp is lively during the high expedition season. On reaching at the foot of number one, a great view of the Khumbu icefall awaits you. After a grand time here retrace the journey back to Gorakshep for the overnight.

Early morning, a steep walk towards Kalapatthar, on reaching the top ridge of Kalapatthar, which is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori. The view from here is beyond imagination as the Everest looks within a stone throw distance, between the summit of Nuptse and Lho-la and Lhotse and with all the higher snowcapped giants that dominates all around, with a view of Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier. After a wonderful time here, descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Lobuche, from here downhill to Dzongla a scenic small settlement at the base of Tsho-la (Cho-La) pass.

An exciting day crossing over second high pass of the adventure, early morning climb leads to Tso-La pass (Cho La) after completing early breakfast following a path with steep up and then crossing a glacier.

On reaching top of the pass at 5,368m high, sometimes the climb can be quite tough and challenging in snow conditions. Cho La pass provides fabulous views of mountains with Cholatse Glacier. From here descend carefully to Thagnak or also called as Dragnak, a small isolated place with few small lodges.

Today morning walk leads on easy gradual path to Gokyo Lake located beneath Ngozumba glacier and then coming across first lake. Walking further passing second lake to reach third lake or Gokyo Lake (also called as Dudh Pokhari) considered as holy pond by both Hindu and Buddhist. Gokyo an early summer grazing place for Yaks and wild animals facing fabulous views of Mt. Cho Oyo and Gyachung Kang, reflecting on the calm waters of Gokyo Lake. Afternoon free to relax or for short walks.

Morning hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,357m, offers panorama of world’s highest peaks from Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche and to the east rises Mt. Makalu. Since the views are similar from what we see while crossing the Renjo La pass, you ma decide to take a long day hike to 5th Lake instead. 

Last final high pass to cross over Renjo-la, morning walk follows at the end of Gokyo Lake with super views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche peaks. Then a steep climb to reach at Renjo La pass 5,360m, on reaching the top with fantastic panorama of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high surrounding peaks.

After a pleasant stop walk descends reaching a frozen ponds beneath Renjo La pass, and then downhill to Lungdhen for overnight stop, located near on route of Nangpa-la pass that leads to Tibet border.

After successful crossing and traverse of all three high passes of Everest around Khumbu area, now its time to descend towards Lukla to conclude the trek. The trek leads downhill via Sherpa village of Marlung village and then to Thame. Thame is a renowned village with many Everest Climbing Sherpas and also home of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. 

Trek continues on gradual trail reaching Thamo, from here back into tree lines of pines-firs and rhododendron woodland and then reaching at Namche Bazaar for overnight stop in the comfort of nice lodge.

Last day of this great trek will be one of the good walk to Lukla. You can walk at on your own normal pace, leisurely and enjoying the lush green scenery around. Apart from few short uphill the only long climb will be just before Lukla which will take about 45 minutes from a place called Choplung. On reaching Lukla, prepare for the last day great dinner and a party with the fellow Sherpa crew, porters and trekking members.

The flight time to Kathmandu are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, transfer to Hotel. Afternoon will be free for relax after the trek. 

Again on return if the flights are not operating direct to Kathmandu, take a short 15 minutes flight to Ramechap and from there you will be driving to Kathmandu with a lunch break in between concluding a wonderful trek. 

After returning from Lukla, you will have a free or contingency day in Kathmandu, which is advisable as Lukla flights are weather dependent and by any chance if the Lukla flight got cancelled or delayed, its worth to keep a free day so that you will not miss your international flight back home. 

You can do some extra sightseeing tour in Kathmandu or just relax and keep sometime free for shopping in Thamel before returning back home. 

Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. Our staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.
