Kinja

Located approximately 200 kilometers east of Kathmandu and situated along the banks of the Likhu River, Kinja Valley is a historic gateway on the Classic Everest Base Camp Trail. Positioned in the serene lap of Mount Numbur, the region features a favorable microclimate and fertile soil at an altitude of 1,600 – 2,000 meters, providing the ideal conditions for high-quality Arabica coffee cultivation.

Through this initiative, we have secured dedicated land and successfully planted 5,000 coffee plants to integrate environmental sustainability with local economic development. This project not only enhances the ecological footprint of the region’s marathon events but also strengthens agro-tourism and local livelihoods. Following this success, we continue to receive numerous requests from small-scale farms and households in the surrounding villages for further saplings to expand sustainable mountain farming.
